Frequently Asked Questions
Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about our products, ordering and services.
General Questions about Products & Solutions
What product categories do linear systems, drive technology and accessories cover?
We supply linear actuators, linear guides (individually and as complete systems), screw jack gearboxes, intelligent electric motors, worm and bevel gearboxes, a large selection of servo and magnetic couplings as well as some specialty couplings, overrunning clutches, universal joints and shaft couplings, gear technology, machine feet and other machine components.
For which mechanical and plant engineering applications are our components specifically suited?
Positioning, lifting, adjusting and indexing in assembly, packaging, intralogistics, special-purpose machinery, test rigs and automation.
How do you select the correct size based on load, stroke, speed and duty cycle?
In consultation with our suppliers, we take into account safety factors, service life and thermal limits and recommend the appropriate series.
What is the difference between standard solutions, configurations and custom special solutions?
Standard components are immediately selectable and generally also deliverable. Configurations combine modular parts, especially for linear systems, motors, gearboxes and screw jack elements. Special solutions include customer-specific adaptations such as special bores and gear profiles, including drawings and samples.
Are our components compatible with IEC motor flanges (B5/B14) and common servo motors?
Yes, as a rule our components are compatible with IEC B5/B14 and common servo flange patterns. Adapter plates and shaft variants are possible.
What materials, surfaces and protection classes (e.g. IP, ATEX) do we offer?
Depending on the component, we offer aluminum, steel, stainless steel or (special) plastics. These can be anodized, galvanized or painted. Protection classes up to IP ratings are possible depending on the series; ATEX variants are also available upon request.
How do backlash, stiffness and accuracy affect the performance of your application?
Low backlash and high stiffness reduce positioning errors, improve dynamics and repeatability. The optimal combination depends on load cases and drive control.
Are CAD models and data sheets (formats: STEP, DXF, PDF) available for all products?
For the core range, we provide STEP and PDF files. Additional formats are available on request.
Questions about Quotation & Ordering Process
How do you request a quote and what information do we need (load case, quantity, deadline, drawing)?
Use our contact form or alternatively send a request to sales@tea-hamburg.de. Send us your technical requirements, optionally with a drawing or sketch. If you have a specific product in mind, please also let us know whether we may suggest alternative products. We will then check the design and feasibility and prepare a quotation.
What are the delivery times for stock items, configured systems and custom orders?
Stock items are typically available within 1–5 business days. Configured systems take 2–4 weeks depending on complexity. Custom special solutions are individually planned — usually 6–12 weeks.
What minimum order quantities apply?
For standard catalog items there is generally no minimum order quantity. For custom parts, minimum quantities depend on the manufacturing effort and are agreed individually.
Do we supply sample orders for evaluation?
Yes, we supply sample quantities for technical evaluation. Please indicate this specifically in your request.
